Carnegie Tour Friday, June 20 10 AM

Update: May 19: with 100 people already signed up, we have requested a tour also at 11 AM. if Carnegie says yes, then, once the 10 AM time fills, we will start booking 11 AM.

The InterContinental New York Times Square is approximately a 16-minute walk to Carnegie Hall. The walking distance is about 4,580 feet (0.7 miles).
​
If you take the 11 AM tour, there is still just enough time to get to the Intercontinental by 12:30 call time. I suggest pick up a sandwich and a drink before the Carnegie tour that you can have once you get to the rehearsal room.

Carnegie Tours is able give us a private (for our group only) guided tour of Carnegie Hall, Friday, June 20.
9:45 AM arrival for 10 AM—11 AM tour.
This event is optional, not required. If interested, please see below for what you need to do to get yourself (and your guests) a spot(s) on the tour.
Choristers, family members, and friends are all welcome.

Cost
$19 per Adult
$16 per Senior (over 62) and/or Student (6 and up)
Carnegie can accommodate 120 people per tour. The first payments we receive, totaling up to 120 people, will be able to take the tour.
Each person wanting to take the tour needs to prepay Viva la Musica. Viva la Musica will send one payment for everyone to Carnegie.

Bring a check/cash/money order to Viva la Musica rehearsal Sunday May 18. Hand to CAROL MEYER.
OR send a check/money order to Viva la Musica to reach us before Thursday, May 29. (Sooner is easier for us)

When making payment, include the following:
(1) Check/cash/money order.
(2) Numbers of people in your party in each of two categories: Adults ($19 each); Seniors over 62 and Students 6 and over ($16 each). Make sure your arithmetic jives.
(3) Your name if you are not the signer of the check (One name per group; we do not need the names of all the people in your group).
No Zelle, no PayPal for tour payments. So sorry.
Viva la Musica banks with Citibank; Citibank does not allow Zelle payments for business accounts.
We are not accepting payments for the tour via PayPal or via credit card, because both of these incur extra charges and require extra woman power.

Friday, June 20th Meet in the Carnegie Lobby, corner of 57th & 7th, no later than 9:45 AM for 10 AM tour
“Tourists” need to arrive at the Carnegie Box Office Lobby, located at the corner of 57th & 7th, no later than 15-minutes prior to the tour start time.
Our tour starts at 10:00 AM. So we need to be there by 9:45 AM.
Our large group will be divided into smaller groups of 20, and each smaller group gets their own docent.
The tour is one hour in duration. So there is time afterwards to get to the Intercontinental Hotel in time for the 12:30 PM call for afternoon massed choir rehearsal.
Stuff
The tour is pre-booked exclusively for our group; no members of the public will be admitted.
There is no possibility to pay for the tour onsite. Payment needs to be made in advance so that one group payment can be sent in advance to Carnegie Tours.
No refunds are possible if you decide not to take the tour or miss it for whatever reason.
Mobility
If you would like to take the tour, and have mobility issues, please let me know asap so I can pass that information on to Carnegie. They can accommodate mobility issues by planning one of the tours to exclude steps.
