Vocal Scores (Paper or Digital)

For both Bay Area and Sweden performances, singers may use:

  • iPads or tablets, or

  • Printed music in a black binder

Mozart: Coronation Mass, K. 317, Editions

  • Some Viva singers may already own copies from previous performances (most recently January 2020).

  • I will be using the Bärenreiter full score, widely regarded as the gold standard for Mozart editions. A Bärenreiter vocal score with singer markings will be uploaded shortly.

  • I recently purchased a paper Bärenreiter vocal score from Ficks Music: https://www.ficksmusic.com/

  • At this time, no free downloadable Bärenreiter vocal score has been located, although Bärenreiter full scores and orchestral parts are available free online. I have contacted Bärenreiter to inquire about the availability of paper or digital vocal scores, as they are currently listed as out of print.

  • Edition choice is flexible as long as your score includes measure numbers. For Baroque and Classical repertoire, most modern editions are reliable. But Urtext editions are lovely to behold and usually easier to read. In addition to Bärenreiter , Urtext editions are published by Carus and Peters.

  • If you prefer to purchase printed music, additional retailers include Amazon,  JW Pepper, Sheet Music Plus, eBay, and other music stores.

  • A free non-Urtext but very serviceable copy of the Schirmer edition is available here and downloaded for your convenience:
